Polyrhythm
Polyrhythm is one of the most recognizable Rhythm Heaven minigames, built around — as the name says — two interlocking rhythms at once. It's a fan-favorite test of independence: keeping two separate beats in your head simultaneously.
How it works
Two streams of objects move on offset rhythms, and you press inputs to push blocks out on each one. The challenge is that the two patterns rarely line up, so you have to hold both timing lines in your head at the same time rather than locking onto a single beat. It's the series at its most cerebral.
Controls, timing and cues
Polyrhythm punishes any attempt to "watch" your way through it — like other busy-looking games, it's easier when you stop staring and feel the two rhythms instead. Count both pulses out loud or subdivide the beat in your head so the offset pattern becomes second nature. As always, earn Superb first to make it Perfect-eligible, then go for a zero-miss run; you get three tries per Perfect Campaign before it has to come around again.
