Overview

Monkey Watch is a recurring Rhythm Heaven minigame where monkeys ride around a clock-like ring and you tap to the beat as they pass. It's a fan-recognized title and appears among the series' marquee games.

How It Works

Monkeys travel around a circular track, and you press an input in time with the music as they reach the marked point. The circular motion gives you a constant visual metronome, but the music remains the real cue — the layout exists to support the rhythm, not replace it.

How to get a Perfect in Monkey Watch

Like the rest of the series, Monkey Watch is driven by audio cues, not visuals, so anchor to the song rather than the monkeys' positions. Learn the pattern in normal play, earn a Superb rank to make it Perfect-eligible, then attempt a zero-miss clear during its Perfect Campaign — you get three tries before it has to come around again. Watch for moments where the rhythm subdivides or speeds up; those are the usual streak-breakers.

See the Ranks & Perfects guide for the full Perfect Campaign rules.

Tips

  • Tap to the music's beat, using the monkeys' circular path only as a backup visual.
  • Learn the full pattern in regular play before going for a Perfect.
  • Listen for rhythm changes or faster passages — that's where misses cluster.
  • Earn Superb once to unlock Perfect Campaign eligibility, then wait for the campaign.
