Rhythm Heaven Groove: Switch 1 vs Switch 2
One game, two consoles — here's what actually differs (spoiler: not much).
There is no separate Switch 2 edition. Rhythm Heaven Groove is a Nintendo Switch game that also runs on Switch 2 through backward compatibility. Same game, same $39.99 price, same cartridge. Buy it for whichever console you own.
The one thing to know
People keep searching "Rhythm Heaven Groove Switch 2 edition." It doesn't exist. Nintendo describes Groove as a Switch title that "bops its way onto Nintendo Switch on 2 July and is also playable on Nintendo Switch 2." That second part is plain backward compatibility — the same way most Switch games run on Switch 2.
Nintendo's own listing flags Switch 2 support as "Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch." In other words, you're playing the Switch version on newer hardware. No upgrade fee, no enhanced edition, no separate purchase.

The input-lag question
The one place a Switch 2 could have helped is timing. Rhythm games live and die on latency, and a previewer specifically said a 120fps boost on Switch 2 "would be a fantastic way to combat the lag" on big TVs. But Nintendo hasn't confirmed any such boost — Groove runs as a standard Switch game on both systems.
So if input lag worries you, the fix isn't the hardware. Play handheld, use wired headphones, switch your TV to a low-lag game mode, and lean on Groove's calibration options. More on that in our hardest minigames guide.
